Eating something to raise your blood sugar should resolve it.  In the future steer clear of foods/beverages high in sugar. Research the "glycemic index" to find carbs that will avoid that.

Long time: I would take him for a check at urgent care or a doctor's office. Make sure he isn't dehydrated, anemic: there is likely an underlying  reason why what you've been doing hasn't helped. If he has a cluster headache, they are difficult to treat and can last for days , most other headaches subside after 1-2 days.

Try pinching your adductor pollicis (locating in the webbing/area between your index finger and thumb, it feels like a tight ball) make clockwise circles while pinching this spot, this should help with the headache but it is really only temporary.
