Please clarify: Sorry, but I looked in my textbooks and "brain fog" isn't in there. So you'll have to go beyond colorful but uninformative phrases and describe what you actually mean by "brain fog." It would also be helpful to include in your post how long it's been since you COULD use your brain and WHY your doc is prescribing fluoxetine. "Brain fog" isn't on the list of FDA-approved indications for the drug.

Delirium?: This is an unusual cluster of symptoms in someone your age. There could be a number of things that cause this. I would be a good idea to see your primary care physician for a physical and evaluation. 
Some things to consider: medications, Coffee, Smoking, drugs, alcohol, recent surgery, infection, etc. You see there are many things that could cause this. Check with your primary care Doctor.

Hard to say: People function at their peak when healthy, get adequate restorative sleep, are well nourished, and in a comfortable environment. You may want to seek out a checkup to evaluate you for baseline health issues. You can also be sure all the other factors are tended to.

It depends: If you have treated infection but not obstruction it can be ongoing a long time.
If you have an anatomic issue or chronic allergy it could be months.
See your family doctor if it persists.

Mold?: You might consider checking your home for mold, and running some tests on yourself. Testing?: I know you said you have had every test but just to confirm - you should have a comprehensive dilated eye exam, MRI of the brain, glucose testing with glucose tolerance test, and a methyl malonic acid lab test which helps to clarify the B12 deficiency, as well as other CBC and consider heavy metal exposure screening. You should be getting B12 injections before you go on oral supplementation.

why does increasing my prednisone clear up bad dysautonmia spell of brain fog, near syncope when nothing else does (ie salt, h20, florinef). i have ctd.

Immune modulation: If your ctd refers to "connective tissue disorder", then your body produces antibodies against your own tissues.  Dysautonomia is one possible manifestation of auto-antibodies attacking your autonomic nerves.  In that case, Prednisone would suppress the connective tissue disorder's autoimmune attack against your autonomic nerves.

i was placed on prednisone  for severe  brain fog that came with post covid and it all cleared up back after off. inflammation cause? im  back on 10 mg which helps. is there a good way to taper off of this dose?
