Remove heavy metals: Chelation uses chemicals to bind heavy metals in the blood and remove them.  It definitely has a role to treat a rare blood disease (thalassemia), a rare copper metabolic problem (wilson's disease) and accidental exposure to toxic metals.  There is experimental work with diabetes that is largelly unproven.  Beware of nonphysicians that are pushing chelation for many different ailments.

how often do you need to use pet scan or bronchoscope to locate lung cancer because it does not show on ct scan but symptoms tell you to keep looking?

Clinical judgement: This pathologist is underwhelmed with the health or public benefits of intensive screening for tiny lung cancers. I'd hope that if the person is symptomatic, some other investigations are undertaken and the actual cause gets found.

i have this numbness everyda when i wake up, it lingers for about 15 min after i wake up also. this started to happen when i was pregnant with my son, is there any herbal medicines that i an use to help this? thank you.

Not without a cause: Herbal medication to treat a "numbness" of unknown origin is sheer fallacy. Have a MD exam you and run some testing to see WHY you are having the numbness.

dr suspects pmr but all labs came back fine (no inflammation, normal set rate, normal crp). scared to take steroids. will i do any permanent damage by not taking them? any possible differential diagnosis to investigate? thank you?

i am 29 years old and am feeling pain/ache in my fingers. it often occurs when i exercise but at times i wake up with aching fingers and i would love to know what i can do to prevent future arthritis.

Hand pain: Are you  stiff in he AM? How long have you had the pain? Are you having swelling? All of these, if present, could suggest a type of arthritis. I would see a rheumatologist.

i feel sometimes bitterness in my tongue and it escapes after few seconds or minute but it never happened before tymnoplasty (ear surgery). so what should i do it is either a gastrological or what kindly guide me. thank you?

Likely unrelated: I feel this would more likely be a bit of acid reflux from your stomach reaching the base of your tongue. Some antacid tablets like calcium carbonate (Tums) or an acid reducer like Zantac may help some. I can see no way this is connected to that surgical procedure other than coincidence.

i went for a sonogram of my scrotum (duplex) they entered my testicle size on the report. right testis: 4.2 cm x 1.9 cm x 2.9, left testis: 3.0 x 1.7 cm x 2.0 cm. my question are my testis small, or average? thank you?

: Right testis's size is in normal range. Your left testicle is small but etiology and its significance should be correlated with medical history. It is common to have two testes with different sizes. One normal testicle is enough for male hormone and fertility.

i had belching and bloating. i went for a endoscope which found nothing sinister and it was diagnosed as functional dyspepsia. i recentely have fast heartbeat, and visually apparent weight loss. should i be concerned, thank you?

how effective is neostrata glycolic acid face wash (18%) for grade 2 acne scars?  i underwent 30% salicylic acid peel thrice. not much use . so if the face wash is effective then please suggest a regimen too.

Forget this stuff: Nothing you can do on your own is going to touch the acne scars. I'm sorry your acne wasn't treated as it should have been, but you do have the option of getting seen by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon who may offer laser work, filler, or microsurgery. Best wishes.
