Zinc deficiency: This depends upon serum zinc levels,  which can be measured.  You can supplement with zinc tablets 50 mg twice a day.  Too much zinc can impair copper absorption and be a hazard. Your practitioner can measure zinc levels.

Possibly: There have been small studies in regards to both topical and oral preparations of zinc for acne.  From a supplemental perspective the oral ranges have been quite variable - from 40-300 milligrams of zinc sulfate two or three times daily for 4-12 weeks.  I would review taking doses higher than 50 mg per day with your physician.

No problem.: The sites in the small intestine that absorb zinc and iron are not identical.  Taking zinc will not affect iron levels in any way.

The wrong answer: I'm not aware of any reason to think they'll help either with the physical problems caused by alcohol, or the craving. It'll upset your stomach and can make you copper deficient. An alcoholic needs sobriety by whatever means, not one more non-evidence-based treatment or distraction. I've seen lives transformed by sobriety many years into the illness.
