: In early pregnancy HCG levels double ever 2 days or so. There is a wide variation on the actual levels.  In a couple of weeks your doctor would be able to assess the gestational sac by ultrasound.

NO: First of all, a cryptic pregnancy means you don't know you are pregnant, so the question itself is a bit confusing--do you have more information?

Your own body makes HCG when pregnancy occurs, but HCG injections are not used to help a baby grow in the uterus.

Yes: The bhcg level should double every 48-72 hrs. This is not exact but your level more than doubled during these intervals. You cannot really make a diagnosis of twin pregnancy from these levels. It could or could not be the case

HCG: During the course of your pregnancy your HCG levels will increase and decrease, with the levels doubling on average every 30-31 hours until they peak, usually around the 9th and 10th weeks of your pregnancy. The level of HCG then decreases slightly until the 16th week where it remains fairly constant until birth.

: With positive HCG levels but lack of significant increases, along with bleeding in early pregnancy, your OB may prescribe progesterone to prevent miscarriage.  Information provided may also indicate possible immanent miscarriage. See your OB provider to discuss , as a pregnancy outside the uterus is also possible (ectopic) and an ultrasound exam is indicated at this point.

Yes.: Very high hcg. Levels can indicate an atypical pregnancy such a what is called a molar pregnancy.   Strict follow up with your OB is important.

my hcg rose from 119, to 185, to 304, and now to 893 over the course of one week. i am currently 4 weeks, 6 days. does this seem normal for my hcg to increase later and not double right away? or does this mean ectopic pregnancy?

: There is considerable variation in HCG levels in normal pregnancies. If you have any concern, see your doctor who may perform an ultrasound examination in a few days to establish the location of the embryo.
