Read on: Depends on the wording. Newborns develop kneecaps 4 months in utero but the are all cartilage, not bone. After birth the are growth centers and bone will develop. Around 3 yrs in girls and 5 to 6 in boys they are ossified(bone). Am interesting fact. Some say that they develop into bone later as we bear more weight on the legs and need  support also crawling is easier on the knees when not bone!

From what ?: If the issue is your casual or regular use of any drug, there is no "Clean out". Abstinence may clear your system enough that a urine screen would be negative. However, if you are on the Child protective service radar &amp; they want me to check the baby for drug exposure I will find at least trace amounts used after the 1st trimester.  Be honest with your OBGYN and you may avoid issues.

Stages: Baby heads can get pretty pointy during birth--but generally look much better even after as little as 24 - 48 hours.  Some babies develop flat spots or other deformities over time related to sleep position, and sometimes to other problems like torticollis, or sometimes rare conditions.  Depending on your baby's age, it might be a good idea to discuss this with your pediatrician and have an exam.

Blood volume size: The average adult is likely to have 5, 000 to 6000 cc of blood making the average 5cc blood draw a trivial amount of their blood volume. The average newborn has about  300cc total blood volume & loss of 15 cc (3 average blood tubes) would be 5% of their blood volume could make them unstable & 30cc could send them into shock.

Yes: Technically, they never stop developing; every time you learn something new, you develop new connections in the brain, be you a month old, or 90 years.  The rapid maturation goes on well into the teen years.

Never: This looks primarily to be a vitamin drop to me.   Babies do need 400 IU of vitamin D daily.  Other than this, your breastmilk and formula ( assuming it is adequately DHA supplemented using optimal global DHA levels) contains all the vitamins and nutrients your baby needs to grow. If you are breastfeeding, then three times a week seafood is optimal for DHA secretion into milk.

Little higher: It actually used to be closer to 10%, but with more scheduled inductions and C-sections at around 39 weeks, the actual number has dropped below that 10%. I doubt it has dropped as low as 4% though. I certainly have not seen a number that low yet, but I'm sure it's headed that way.

Yes: Often they have a short bowel which gives them a unique absorption ability. Review the recommended diet with the dietitian and have regular follow up to make sure the baby is growing. All the best. The diet may include vitamins.
