Healthy: Just try to eat a healthy balanced diet of lean meats, fruits and vegetables. Limit carbs and drink a lot of water and milk. Look for healthy fats with omega fatty acids (fish), and other natural fats (avocado, yogurt). Exercise daily (walking, swimming, pilates, etc). Get enough quality sleep if you are able.

Exercise: Just keep working hard. As you gain more muscle, your metabolism will be boosted. You really shouldn't take anything to boost your metabolism while nursing. These are usually stimulants and will make the baby irritable.

Throat pain: For significant sore throat with swollen tonsils / lymph nodes –  see physician &amp; get a strep throat test/ culture. Pour boiling water over thinly sliced ginger. Steep 5 min. in a covered pot. Add 2 to 3 tbs honey &amp; sip. Saltwater gargles: Mix 1 tsp salt in 8 oz warm water – gargle several times a day.

i had my gtube removed after it was there for around 2 years and the site isnt healing. it leaks and burns my skin at every meal. i am in a nursing home so my options are limited.
my doctor has used silver nitrate and my dressing is changed daily?

: Fistula (opening) has been formed from the tube, extending into the stomach. Protect surrounding skin with karaya paste or Vaseline applied several times daily.
Silver nitrate Caudery is the correct treatment, however, occasionally these require surgical closure. Give it a few a few more tries but do protect the skin and keep the site covered, and use sterile packing,  changed daily.

The : The answer depends on your goal. If you are trying to lose weight then you should eat about 1500 calories a day and do your normal exercise routine (do not add an extra 700 calories). Ithis can also vary depending on your current weight. If you are trying to maintain your weight then you can eat about 2000 cal per day and continue your work out routine. However if after your work out you feel hungry or lightheaded then you should go ahead and eat something. A piece of fruit or high protein snack is a good idea.
