i had an ultrasound performed which found a fibroid, but i also have what looks something like a black hole, what could it be?

Cyst, pregnancy: If something looks like a black hole on pelvic ultrasound, more information is needed to say what it is.  If you have a positive pregnancy test, it could be an early gestational sac or ectopic pregnancy.  Otherwise other possibilities include ovarian cysts.  You should follow-up with your physician about the results of this ultrasound.

Fibroids: It depends on the location of the fibroid and your size. If you are thin and the fibroid is on the front and on top (anterior fundal) of the uterus, it can push on your abdominal wall and make you look pregnant if you are thin. The NuvaRing would be useful if the fibroid were close to the lining and  should not be in a place to make you look pregnant.

: Heterogenous myometrium with thickening of the uterine wall could be adenomyosis. this would explain your dull pelvic pain, heaviness and heavy periods. Follow up with your Gyn Dr to determine next steps which could include hormones.

ct scan showed "uterus has a lobular appearance with mass effect on rectum" no heavy bleeding so prob no fibroids. what could cause this ? i am 48

Test results: Individual test results must be interpreted by the treating physician who has all of the information. This reports simply indicates that the uterus is a little large and may be compressing the rectum. Without knowing more information we would not be able to comment on whether or not this is normal or a cause for concern

my ct of pelvis said i have a enlarged uterus which measures 9x22 and contains multiple calcifications. although this most likely indicates and enlarged fibroid uterus, given the atypical appearance uterine carcinoma cannot be excluded. is this bad?
