SHOULD BE HEALTHY: Sounds pretty healthy and should be alright. H Pylori is a bacterial infection of the stomach and they treat with regimen of antibiotics and also acid blockers and coat the stomach as well. This seems as though it is bland enough.

Tastes do change: but not as much as their associations. Having pleasant or unpleasant experiences associated with foods/tastes will have a large impact. And some things like hot/spice changes the nerves that are triggered by them and they have less effect over time. And children tend to have different tastes than adults.

ACID REFLUX: 40 mgs of Omeprazole will reduce acid production more efficiently than 20 mgs.Acid reduction  does not usually interfere with digestion of food.

seem to be having an ache/pain in both sides of my body just above the hips. mainly below the rib cage at the back. experienced a slight loss of appetite over the last few days and noticed that food is taking longer to digest?

Backache: Have you been exercising or doing housework that could have strained your back muscles? Do you sleep on a good mattress?  Since the discomfort is bilateral, a kidney cause is unlikely. Your GI symptoms are rather nonspecific. I recommend avoiding activities that would stress your back muscles, take acetomenophen or an anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen with food only. See MD as needed.
