Accepted Answer

Is the cut lined up?: As long as there's not infection and the edges of the wound line up then there's a good chance that it will heal with less scarring.  If any doubt best to get a doctor or nurse to check it.

Scars: Start with topical silicone sheeting you can get on the internet to help flatten scar. Consider injections of kenalog (triamcinolone) to flatten if scare is thickened, and topical agents like neocutis biogel help as well. I offer laser treatments for my patients too. The earlier you treat a scar, the better the results

Accepted Answer

That's: a bit unusual since waxing generally removes only a superficial layer of skin/hair. If you mean that it BURNED your lip and that burn resulted in a scar you would best be served by a consultation with a Plastic Surgeon/Cosmetologist

Probably: When biopsies are performed, there is usually scarring unless the biopsy can be done in the form of a superficial shave, which is not always practical for a lip biopsy.  However, a biopsy of the lip can be done in such as a way that the scar is significantly camoflauged and once healed (6-12 months) will be difficult to discern from a natural contour of the skin.

Scar hairs: Scars normally do not grow hair as they lack normal skin surface with hair follicles. You should see a plastic surgeon who can possibly perform a skin transplant from a hairy part of your body. Good luck

If : If the scar is unusually long or deep, it could affect the way the filler flows.  If it is small, it will probably have little or no effect.

i have keratosis on an area above my upper lip;  it was frozen,   the area developed a dry rough texture. i was told it was scar tissue.  is this true?

Yes: however return of the keratosis is a possibility with a lesion you describe.

Treat skin care: It's important to follow basic principles of wound care with avoidance of sun exposure & tobacco use. Time will likely result in a slow but progressive fading of the scar. Silicone gel?  On occasion peel/bleach formulas consisting of steroids, retin-a, hydroquinone, and kojic acid may help to ease the hyperpigmentation you are experiencing but this will require a prescription by a dermatologist.

3 days ago i hit my upper lip with my phone and it was swollen and hurting.now i see that it left 2 darker red spots.will this scar?or how can i make them go away?

Accepted Answer

: If the skin was not broken, there will be no scar. The spots are due to bleeding in the tissue, like a bruise and will clear in a few days. Warm fomentation may help.
