how long does it take for sudafed or codeine to get out of your system. i have to do a urine test and i have been sick. will i test positive.

Depending: On how long you used it and how much probably 3-4 days. Couldn't you take a letter from your doc stating you had a prescription to use them??

i took 1 pill of buspirone 5 mg and got a bad side effects. how long does it take to get out of my system ? also can i take sudafed  while i have buspar in my system?

I would allow: 24 hours to have effects of Buspirone completely out (it's probably sooner but I would allow outer limit) If you are taking Buspar for ANXIETY I would NOT take Sudafed since Sudafed side effect=anxiety!!

coffee and sudafed help me focus and not get angry. my anxiety also goes away when i take these. isn't it supposed to do the opposite?

Attentional issues: Sometimes a paradoxical reaction to stimulants can be an indication of attentional issues.

will sudafed get rid of post nasal drip? if so, how long may it take to do so?

Temporary relief: in 12-24 hours. Not a long term solution. If postnasal drip is due to a viral infection it should clear in 5-7 days. If due to an allergy, different medications may need to be prescribed. See your GP if not better in a week. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

not sure what to take ? sudafed or mucinex (guaifenesin).  trying to get over nasty residual effects of flu, i.e phlegm and congestion.

Meds for flu symptom: Sudafed (the kind you may have to sign for at the pharmacy) helps relieve congestion by shrinking the tiny blood vessels in the nose.  Not okay if you have uncontrolled high blood pressure. 
Plain Mucinex (guaifenesin) helps if you also drink lots of water, by making the mucus more fluid so it runs out rather than getting stuck. 
Can be taken in combination as in Mucinex D.

i get hit lhard with allergies about every 3-4 years.  well this year appears to be a year.  allergy forecast in the austin area show very high mold counts. what is best to take. sudafed pe isn't working. sneezing and eyes watering continual.

Allergy Symptoms: Unless you have been tested, you might not know what you are truly allergic to. Nevertheless, Sudafed PE is a BAD choice. Start with neti-pot or squeeze bottle salt water wash followed by OTC Fluticasone nasal spray (1 spray in each nostril). Perform this wash followed by nasal spray morning AND night. Can also add Alaway or Zaditor eye drops

Half-life 5-8 hrs: That's an approximate range since doses and bodies can vary. So, the drug should be out of your system within a day. Hope this info is helpful.

Sudafed: Children's sudafed is low dosage, but how much have you taken of it, at any rate it would wear off in about 8 hours and get out of your system in a day or so.  I'd be concerned if it was the other way round

One: If you are talking about adult dose, it should be no more than what's recommended in the instructions. For short-acting ones, up to 4x daily , for long-acting 120 mg every 12 hrs.
