The healing takes about. 6 to 8 weeks. It better be evaluated by your Family Doctor or a Podiatrist.

6 weeks: Most fractures of any bone will heal in about 6 weeks.  As to whether you need to see an orthopedist, you probably do not.  You should tape the broken toe to an adjacent toe ("buddy taping") to splint it, and take tylenol (acetaminophen) or advil for pain.  If this is not working you should see an orthopedist, as you may not be healing and can cause a false joint to form.
