Pedal edema: Edema is the objective finding of excess fluid (either intra or extra cellular) in tissue.  This is unrelated to ability to walk.  No matter how bad the edema in your feet gets it is still called pedal edema. However, if edema extends up to the level of the abdomen it is known as anasarca.

whats feathery edema(from mris)? what can i do to treat the pain on my calf at home? is it ever go away its own? ive been wearing a compression sleeve for a months but pain comes back after short distance walking. is there any medication or treatme?

: The first recommendation is you need a proper diagnosis. Treating symptoms will never resolve the problem   I recommend seeing an orthopedist or podiatrist if family doctor not able to make a diagnosis.

Poss. meniscus tear: Persistent knee pain raises the question of a tear or partial tear of a meniscus.  See an orthopedist or physiatrist.  No jogging in the mean time.

You need to see your: doctor to reduce swelling. Until you see doc start using support stockings or spans and avoid salt.

i broke my fibula end of july, casted for 8 weeks now in boot for 3 weeks , i have pain when walking, swelling on both sides. edema how long will this?

Can persist : Swelling after an ankle fracture can persist for months AFTER the fracture has healed ; whether the fracture required surgery or not. Be patient and incorporate rom and strengthening exercises to help. If swelling persists longer than 6 months see your orthopedic surgeon for evaluation. Best of Luck!

i had a 20 year career that involved non-stop walking during 8 hours shift. i have bilateral edema in legs with sever bone pain. i tried massage, but it didn't provide relief. what should i do?

Compression: Stockings?  Have you tried them?  They might help. But first, get an ultrasound of the veins of your legs. Do you have varicose veins?  See a vascular surgeon. Varicose veins must be treated to avoid clot formation, potential for pulmonary emboli which is life threatening.

Vein: Varicose veins or incompetent venous valves in the leg can definitely cause those symptoms. A vascular surgeon could evaluate and advise you. In the meantime try wearing support stockings.

can foot/ankle edema in 1 leg that is caused by walking in the heat be caused by vascular insufficiency? it only swells in the heat

One side vascular: We see swelling with heat, but since it is one leg  - suggest  vascular, especailly vein - either varicose  vein or vascular blockage.
You physician can help evaluate this or have  you see a vascular specialist?
