I broke my fibula end of july, casted for 8 weeks now in boot for 3 weeks , i have pain when walking, swelling on both sides. edema how long will this?

Can persist : Swelling after an ankle fracture can persist for months AFTER the fracture has healed ; whether the fracture required surgery or not. Be patient and incorporate rom and strengthening exercises to help. If swelling persists longer than 6 months see your orthopedic surgeon for evaluation. Best of Luck!
