Varies: True ige mediated allergy  usually goes away. How long it lasts depends on each individual.  See an allergist who will help evaluate your child.

If he is gassy : You can certainly give him some gas drops and try him on lactose free formula or soy protein.

Milk allergy: Milk allergic patients need to avoid all forms of cow's milk including cheese, yogurt and ice cream.  It's important to read labels as milk proteins such as whey and casein are in many food products.  Goat's milk is not a good idea as 90% will react to it as well.

Craving food: While i periodically hear of patients claiming that they are allergic to certain foods that they crave, I am not aware of any bona-fide study that ever addressed this.

Tums (calcium carbonate): Tums are calcium carbonate, one or two a day with vitamin d and you should be good to go.

Calcium in food: Many foods are good sources of calcium. My favorites are dark green leafy vegetables, fortified soy milk and other non-dairy beverages, such as fortified almond and  coconut milk.  Certain grains and cereals are also fortified. You could add on a supplement if you wish and don't forget about the addition of vitamin d that allows you to absorb and utilize the calcium.

Milk allergy/intoler: Gas is more likely due to milk or lactose intolerance. A large glass of milk, buttermilk or even yogurt can cause gas or bloating and gurgling in the abdomen. Cheese, except aged cheese,  can also  cause intolerance. 
Allergic reactions can come faster and may include hives, nasal and chest symptoms soon after ingesting milk products. There is lot of confusion about this subject.

Yes: Unless you are allergic to almond.   If you are allergic to cow's milk, any "milk" made from rice, almond or whatever should be ok.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Yes you can get both. Lactose intolerance individuals get abdominal cramp, gases, diarrhea when consuming milk or dairy products. Symptoms depend on the severity of your intolerance and the amount of milk you consume. Symptoms should resolve within a week of avoiding milk. Milk allergy in the other hand can cause hives, eczema, abdo pain, blood in stool, and worst, throat closing or anaphylaxis.
