See below: Depends on what you define as a growth spurt.  Usually, these may last for a few weeks to months but some people start then just continue to grow until their genetic limit is reached.  If the pattern shows something outside the family pattern, get seen by your doc for an evaluation.

Growth spurt: Growth spurt is most evident as an increase of one's height and weight. Boys manifest increased appetite, tiredness or increased energy, increased sleep and change in wardrobe. In boys, it usually happens between 11 to 16 years but con continue into the early 20s (ask your dad, uncles, male grandparents for a history).

Mid Bone Pain: Classically in kids they experience growing pains in the middle of long bones, often at night.  Their pain resolves with massage and tylenol (acetaminophen).  They do not limp or have fever.  These can last six months at a time! Usually not any longer.

Perhaps: Once your bones have fused no further growth in height is possible. This usually happens in males around the age of 16 or 17 so you may grow a bit more.

Evaluation needed: Leg length should be same as a child grows.  Asymmetric  growth should be promptly evaluated by a physician as the difference can worsen with time and growth.

Tired 3 year old: If your son has been tired and has not had any other symptoms like a fever or diarrhea or even a runny nose I would take him directly to see his doctor on Monday.  This is not an age of fatigue do to a growth spurt.  I do not want to scare you but don't wait. Better to be safe than sorry when it comes to you child's health.

Depends on  bone age: The potential additional length anyone can expect depends on areas in the long bones (arms, legs, fingers)called growth plates. This is where growth occurs and an active open growth plate means more growth is possible. An xray of the hands & wrists can be evaluated for bone maturity since there are many to see. If your bone maturity is average for a 19 yo you are done growing taller.

what is the cause of pains in my lower legs and feet? i am 24 years old and have never had these sensations before. could this be related to a late growth spurt? i actually reached my current height early last year after my 23rd birthday?

: There are various possibilities but not a growth spurt in my opinion. Any overuse? Do the pains occur while walking or at rest? Are they sharp or dull aches? Any ,tingling,numbness, weakness,tenderness,swelling or discoloration? A type of peripheral neuropathy has to be considered. A neurologist or rheumatologist would be best to evaluate &amp; advise you. Appropriate testing will be done.
