I : I am so sorry you are still sick.  That sounds like it has been very frustrating.  So it sounds like you initially had symptoms of asthma which is new for you, got diagnosed with bronchitis and initially treated with a course of antitbiotics, then had a diagnosis of pneumonia by x-ray and were treated with amoxicillin, which you failed and then were treated with zithromax, IV antibiotics and steroids, and now are on levaquin (levofloxacin).  I am also very concerned about you.  It sounds like you have failed basically 5 antibiotics.

I would call your doctor in the morning and re-schedule an appointment; i know you are frustrated but you have to be seen again.  In addition, you may need a pulmonary specialist.  It is certainly abnormal to have this persistent of infection that has not cleared despite aggressive treatment.

If you have shortness of breath, the continued pain, fever, or vomiting then you have to go to the er again.

Depends.: Half-life of penicillin is a couple of hours; that of Azithromycin - several days. Other meds are in between.

No need to worry: It will be good to know which antibiotics you are referring to; why were you taken the medicine and for how many days were you supposed to take it. In any case, I don't think there is any need to panic.

It's not: I didn't know it was.  Vancomycin is an appropriate treatment for staph infections, especially those that are resistant to other antibiotics.

About antibiotics...: Commonly used antibiotics taken in their typical doses should not affect the effectiveness of Aftera or similar pills. Taking emergency contraception pills can alter the timing or the quality of the current menstrual cycle bleeding and maybe the next cycle, too. One should check a urine pregnancy test 3 weeks later, because emergency contraceptive pills work most of the time but not all the time.

: It is not the person who is resistant to antibiotics but the microorganisms causing the infection. If the person is infected with a different organism or a different strain of the same organism, the antibiotic may be effective.

Assuming that: Your doctor found a bacterial colitis and he is treating you for it with antibiotics, you should be seeing improvement after one week.  If you are not, it is time to consider other causes of colitits, such as c. Difficile colitis, ulcerative colitis, parasites, etc.  Go back to the doctor and ask for referral to GI specialist if necessary for possible sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy.

Yes: Retest ALT in 6 weeks and it should come back to normal. Make sure to follow a healthy lifestyle and to ingest in moderation OTC medications, herbal supplements, vitamins, alcohol that may affect the liver.

what does it mean if i threw up an hour after taking antibotics? i have pharingentis and have had it for the last three days.

Empty stomach?: If you have not been eating and took a strong antibiotic on an empty stomach, it would not be unusual to have vomiting.  If you can drink some Gatorade, soup or crackers before you take your medications, and avoid skipping meals, you will tolerate your medications much better.  If you can not keep any fluids or medications down, notify your Physician.

Maybe doesn't matter: Most antibiotics drop to ineffective levels within 24 hours, but azithromycin (Zithromax, Z-pak), which is often used for bronchitis, lasts 7-10 days. However, it probably doesn't matter. Antibiotics often don't speed clearing of bronchitis; and when they do, probably only the first 5-7 days matters. After that, additional antibiotic usually makes no difference. But check with your doctor.
