Maybe doesn't matter: Most antibiotics drop to ineffective levels within 24 hours, but azithromycin (Zithromax, Z-pak), which is often used for bronchitis, lasts 7-10 days. However, it probably doesn't matter. Antibiotics often don't speed clearing of bronchitis; and when they do, probably only the first 5-7 days matters. After that, additional antibiotic usually makes no difference. But check with your doctor.
