Get tested: It isn't known for sure how long after starting treatment chlamydia can still be transmitted to partners. It probably was pretty safe if 4-5 days had passed, but even this isn't certain. Best for you to be tested:  better safe than sorry!

Chlamydia: no it should not take any longer to cure it. You may want to return to your doctor after treatment to be rechecked for a cure.  Discuss this with your doctor.

i submitted a urine specimen for trich, chlamydia, and chlamydia 3 days ago and the results are still pending. does this mean its positive? do positive results take longer to complete?

: No but sometimes labs run things in batches so it takes a little longer or perhaps their machine is down.  Just be patient and try not to stress.

was recently given ept (400mg cefixime + 1g azith) to take to a partner for possible gon/chlamydia urethritis. this particular partner has kidney disease. would a single 400mg cefixime dose be appropriate? is renal adjustment just for longer courses?

Partner should se Dr: Your partner should see their Dr before taking any medication. Renal disease can change how certain medications are eliminated from the bloodstream and can cause many medications to stay in circulation longer due to the reduced clearance which can then lead to severe side effects. The other consideration is what other medications is your partner taking.

taking 14 day dose of doxycycline for chlamydia and a rocephin shot for gonorrhea when is it okay to have sex.. the day after treatment? or do you wait longer?

???????: As many as 1/3 of men and 1/2 of women may have no symptoms with chlamydia. That said, most that become symptomatic will do so after a week or so. If you acquired this from your husband he may have been exposed and not developed symptoms.I doubt you have unprotected sex with him for 2 years and only become symptomatic now unless he was exposed more recently.

GC / Chlamydia: In my office we perform a nucleic acid assay for gonorrhea and chlamydia...its from the urine.  It takes 48 hours generally.

Perspective: I don't know if there is a true scientific answer for this. Most doctors recommend 7 to 14 days before unprotected intercourse. I retest all of my patients to make sure the infection has gone. Why the urgency ?  Keep it in perspective though. Being treated for a sexually transmitted diseases is a big deal.

i was diagnosed with chlamydia 2 days ago by my gp and he gave me 6 azithromycin 250mg to drink 2 daily. the problem is today is my last day of drinking them and the symptoms still don't go away. does it take longer for the symptoms to disappear?

Give it time: I would not expect any change in symptoms in less than a week if not a little longer. The med you are taking is somewhat different than many others. It attaches to fat cells in your body and leaks out into your blood over a 2+ week period to do its work. This allows it to be given in a short time while working much longer.
