Get evaluated!: At 18,  these are unusual complaints.

I am concerned that you have a significant nerve compression,  especially with the low back pain with standing,  and the bladder and bowel inconsistency.

Please get this evaluated by a physician immediately.

can i take prunelax and ciprofloxacin 500mg and apap/codeine 300-30mg together? i had kidney stone surgery 6 days ago and no bowel movement since.

Better see your doc: Not having a BM for that long after surgery may be related to the codeine you are on, if you can hold it, that might help, prune juice (prunelax) can help open your bowels too, don't believe it would interact with cipro, cipro however may interact with caffeine in APAP/codeine, drink more fluids that would help the constipation too,  wish you wellness

You need to be seen: This is not normal.  You should call your doctor and if not available be seen today to have urine checked and examine your abdomen.  Get well!

Possibly: Though the greatest problem with kidney stones is excruciating pain.  It is often correctly compared to childbirth pain.  However, it can cause colic, and that can make you feel like you need to defecate.

Doubtful: A stone in the bladder that is not obstructing the bladder outflow should not be causing you obvious symptoms. I assume your urination is normal?

No, it shouldn't: Kidney stones shouldn't directly stop a bowel movement. Kidney stones are however very painful and one may be afraid to force down during a bowel movement for fear of more pain.Also pain medications, such as narcotics can cause constipation. Kidney stones itself have no direct relationship with the bowel.They can pass only via the urine-not stool.Hope this helps!

Urologist: Ureteral colic pain has been described as the most intensely severe pain one can experience.  My advice to you is to see a urologist and discuss treatment options. (extraction or shockwave treatment) By your description of the symptoms, he has a stone lodged in one of the ureters. If the ureter remains obstructed for much longer there may be some irreversible damage to the kidney.

Yes: Majority of the time you will be able to have bowel movements after colostomy. Rarely their might be a surgical issue that may decrease your bowel movements due to nerve impairment. It is also common to have some constipation after surgery due to anesthesia. If you do have constipation for a long time after surgery, consult your physician to get to the underlying cause.
