Varies: Some women will have a small amount of milk for several years afterwards.  Best thing to do is to compress the breasts with a tight sports bra and use breast pads to absorb remaining milk so the ducts compress.  Avoiding breast and nipple play during sex for a couple weeks will be helpful as well.

Swollen Breasts: Express your milk, apply cold compresses to your breast and take Ibuprofen for pain.It should take 2-3 days.

Robitussin DM (guaifenesin and dextromethorphan).: Robitussin dm (guaifenesin and dextromethorphan) has an expectorant (guaifenesin) which will help loosen any  mucus trapped in the chest and a cough suppressant (dextromethorphan) to keep the coughing at bay.  Both are ok during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Probably not: according to my reference Epocrates.  Robitussin (guaifenesin) would be OK to take for your cough.  A better choice may be to go see your primary care to see why you have a persistent dry cough.

Breast milk: stop: If you are certain about stopping breast feeding, ask your OB provider about "bromergotcryptine" which will stop prolactin production in the pituitary, and your breast milk will cease being produced.  No over the counter medications will affect milk production effectively.

Maybe not: The first months are troubled by their narrow nasal passages.Exposure to dust, fragrences, smoke &amp; other irritants aggravates this.Baby tries to flush these out of the nose  with mucous but this often ends as congestion &amp; produces cough &amp; sneezing. The best rx is washing out the nose with saline &amp; suctioning the remainder. Eliminate irritants from babies environment &amp; this will happen less.

Viral infection: Drink over 2 liters of water / day--not hard, as one bottled water is ½ a liter.  That will help to flush out the virus circulating in your bloodstream.  a nasal spray decongestant like Afrin has minimal absorption into your bloodstream.  A drying antihistamine (those which can make you sleepy) like diphenhydramine is regarded as safe, too. Try half the usual dose, which would be 25 mg.
