i've had bunion surgery and a chilectomy within the past 2 years on my right foot. before the chilectomy the bunion looked like it was returning. after the chilectomy it just looks worse. how is it coming back when so much of my bone is being cut off?

: Like any surgery if you do not get at the cause of the problem the problem will re occur. Without X-rays and More history cannot give you a more precise answer. I would seek a second and third opinion. Bring your X-rays prior to surgery with you. If the the first metatarsal continue to drift medially removing  the “ bump” alone will not resolve problem.

had a sinus cat scan results here chronic sinusitis and sinus inflammation.  what would help it go away and how to prevent it coming back ?

Sinusitis: I recommend consulting an Otolaryngologist(if you haven't already done so) for evaluation,treatment and follow-up. Antibiotics and measures to promote paranasal sinus drainage are hallmarks of treatment.

Runs its course: Cold tips:  for sore throat – gargle with warm salt water (1/2 tsp salt in 8 oz of water). * for congestion – saline nose drops or a netti pot.  *for anti-inflammatory effect & mobilizing mucus- homemade chicken noodle soup.**for hydration- lots of water. Try clear broth. *  add honey & a small amt. Of lemon juice to chamomile tea. Add honey & a small amt. Of lemon juice to chamomile tea.

what causes heartburn and how to keep it from coming back?

Acid reflux: The most common reason for heart burn is Acid reflux from stomach to the Esophagus(Food pipe).
It is a common condition affecting 15-20% of people. If you have it on a daily basis you will need to take antacids, which are available over the counter although it is a good idea to also see a medical doctor who can monitor and guide you, if it is persistent problem. Take Zantac or Prilosec at night .

BOILS: A boil a skin infection that usually starts in a hair follicle or in an oil gland.  It 's usually due to a staphylococcus (staph) germ. You will probably need an antibiotic. Do you have diabetes? See your doctor. Soon.

my ringworm always coming back at the same place months after being cured . now again my ringworm cured  . how to prevent it from coming.back?

2 reasons: Fungal spores, which cause the ringworm infection, do not wash out in the laundry and are not killed by the heat of the drier.  They live for 30 days.  If you don't treat your fungus infection for at least 30 days (despite it clearing up in only a few days with treatment), you're bound to re-infection.

We have found there is a genetic predisposition to some fungi, so some ppl just keep getting it.

my mom was diagnosed with elevated liver enzymes, and she wants to know how to ease it,and how to prevent it from coming back. she's 55yrs old?

Find cause: Hopefully Mom got these repeated off alcohol, painkillers, and any meds she doesn't truly need. If still up, checks for hepatitis C and B, and Wilson's and hemochromatosis and autoimmune hepatitis, are all in order. This may simply be a way that her liver, with her genetic profile, asks for more exercise. Best wishes.

hi doc. i'm almost 9 days late for my period. negative hpt test 7 weeks after sexual exposure so not pregnant. been having cramps and some staining on my underwear but no period still. is it coming? how can i induce my period?

: See your GYN physician for guidance, which may include taking progesterone for several days to produce withdrawal bleeding when stopped.  Delays in ovulation in a given cycle is usually due to stress, and will of course delay the onset of a post-ovulatory menstruation.

See below: Use Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and Hydrocortisone 1% cream.  The Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can reduce the itch and the Hydrocortisone can reduce the inflammation.
