-increased biting 
-drooling 
-gum-rubbing 
-sucking 
-irritability 
-wakefulness 
-ear rubbing 
-facial rash 
-decreased appetite for solid foods 
-slightly elevated temperature (but still under 100.4f orally)

any temperature over 100.4f orally is more likely to be caused by illness, not teething.

Since your child has a shunt, it is important that you call your child's doctor with any fever because a shunt infection is an emergency.

It should: The tightness is from the tunneling under the skin for the tube.  If it persisted there may be scar tissue forming and moving the neck gradually might loosen it up.  I have use pt in a few of patients who have experienced this.

: Your skull should protect your intracranial pressure from being affected by putting pressure on your scalp. If you're concerned about ongoing head discomfort however, consult the surgeon who inserted the VP shunt.

: Hydrocephalus does not cause pain or tenderness on touch or pressure on head. Hence it's related to procedure such as inflammation of the aponeurosis. The inflammation could be due to infection which is less likely or allergic reaction to the shunt. Request you surgeon to see you and if no infection he Will guide you for the anti-inflammatory therapy on a short term basis.
