Varies : Pregnancies occured as early as 7 days after removal. For others it may take several months to start having normal cycles again. This is going to vary from person to person. When your periods are back to normal you will know that all is out of your system.

Still effective: Implanon is designed to be effective for 3 years, so you should still be fine after 2 years.  If you are significantly overweight then you may not want to push it to the full 3 years.

Very effective: Implanon is a very effective method of contraception on its own but no method is 100%. Implanon does come close. You need the condoms to decrease the risk of sexually transmitted diseases because the implanon does nothing to help with this. Hope this helps.

Same as a vaccine: With implanon/nexplanon your provider will numb the skin first so you won't feel the insertion device go in. Maybe just some pressure as it slides in smoothly. It's a procedure that takes.

Stops ovulation: Implanon is an implantable contraceptive system that uses pellets implanted under the skin to deliver hormone that inhibits ovulation much like a pill or a shot would do.  It lasts much longer than oral and injectable methods making it more convenient for some.

Blood pressure: Implanon has various side effects. The following side effects are experienced by greater than 10% of the people on it:  Acne, Amenorrhea, breast pain, headache, leucorrhea, monorrhagia, oligomenoorrhea, phatyngitis, URI, vaginitis, weight gain.  HTN is not noted.

Yes: Implanon is an extremely effective form of birth control- possibly more so and definitely equivalent to a tubal ligation or vasectomy.  The side effects most commonly are irreg bleeding or spotting, acne is possible and then horone symptoms such as moods swings, headache, nausea and rarely wt gain ( although low risk for wt gain).  Tends to be very safe and if not tolerated- easy to remove.

$$$$: Implanon is a great product but expensive if you are paying cash. Insurance companies and medicaid usually cover it. Most cities have public health clinics and you may find a low cost or sliding scale option there. Cash price for the device plus insertion is prob in the $700-1000 range.

Yes : Implanon now called Nexplanon is one of the most effective methods around.  It is considered to be about 98% effective.  Irregular bleeding is common which can be frustrating but is not harmful.

Usually two: One, if the implant is unfortunately not implanted correctly so that the hormones aren't released/absorbed by your body in the expected fashion.  Two, is just that, no birth control, even if used 100% correctly has a 0% failure rate, in that your body sometimes "has a mind of its own" and will still ovulate through hormonal manipulation!
