May be an impending: problem.  Most of the time chronic inflammation is due to poor drainage of secretions , its accumulation leading to infection. Nasal decongestants may help you and see a ENT specialist to avoid future problems.

CT versus MRI: The simplest distinguishing factors between these tests is what shows up well.  With CT, bone shows up in nice detail, whereas in most MRI protocols, the bone is essentially poorly imaged.  Another difference is that a CT is actual radiation exposure and an MRI is not.  For the sinuses, typically, a CT is the preferred imaging modality, because you need to see the bony detail.

It could: We have several sinuses in the head.  Depending on which sinuses were imaged a brain tumor could be visualized if one were present in the captured field of view.

Yes: Usually treated medically with decongestants and antibiotics. If recurrent, you you might have mechanical blockage at osteo-meatal-complex and need surgery to promote drainage. See an ENT.

Many things: But ideally you should review this with your ENT doc.  Often interventions like nasal saline irrigation(sometimes with baby shampoo too as a surfactant), antibiotic or antifungal rinses(sometimes even oral antibiotics), and antileukotriene medications, and then in the long run, sometimes sinus surgery is necessary.
