: I agree that the information about coffee is confusing. Although it contains acrylamide, a probable carcinogen, it is stated by many that there is insufficient evidence to consider coffee as a carcinogen. I doubt any manufacturer lists their coffee as possibly carcinogenic.

i am 27 years old and diagnosed with hpv due to warts. the american cancer society website says gardasil 9 vaccine doesn't have much or any benefits for men over 26 years old. given the information, do you advise me to get the first dose or not? :)

Gardasil: Usually not. but you can discuss this with your physician.

That's true: It depends on type of cancer, extent of disease, surgical removal of cancer, response to adjunctive treatments like chemotherapy etc and overall health condition of the patient. In a favorable combination of above factors survival beyond five years is possible.

Not clear-"cut": This is an emotional, politicized issue. Any newborn boy may grow up to be a man who would strongly preferred to have a foreskin, and such men are not rare -- i'm all about choice. About 10% of boys need circumcision for their health. The acs is focused on cancer, with circumcision greatly decreasing the risk of a rare but devastating cancer for which a boy can now be immunized. You decide.

Too many: There are more than 200 different types of cancer. You can develop cancer in any body organ. There are over 60 different organs in the body where a cancer can develop.And the list goes on and on.

Its complicated.: Cancer is not just one thing.  Cancer is hundreds of different diseases.  Not just one.  We know there are different triggers, different behaviors that place you at risk, there are different genes that increase the likelihood of cancer...we know LOTS of different things about LOTS of different cancers.  But we don't know the one thing that is common to all cancers so that they can be prevented.

Lung/brain: Almost 99% of cancer at late stage won't be treated,worst type of cancers are lung cancers,brain cancer *glioblastoma* and sarcomas.

CA silent killers: There are a few cancers that present late in the course of the disease because they have very vague or even common symptoms. Some examples are ovarian, pancreatic, prostate, glioblastoma multiforma, lung , and stomach.  Some cancers are very fast growing...esophageal and Burkit's lymphoma.

Unknown: Good question, but we do not fully understand the causes of cancer.  However, it is probably due to a combination of factors, including: genetics (family history), environmental exposures (tobacco, radiation), diet (as you said), and we are even beginning to understand that there are certain infections that can increase cancer risk (viral).
