Too late!: Unfortunately, after 7 months, a pars fracture that was not diagnosed and was not treated properly would most likely result in malunion or nonunion of the bony fragment. Use of a bone growth stimulator at this time would do nothing to correct the problem.

: Much better, and more accurate explanation, can be obtained from your surgeon.  But would gather there is concern of an incomplete fusion or a bony nonunion, especially if there is a history of cigarette smoking.
