You don't need to: Unless you are using an older computer monitor (mid-1990s or earlier), you do not need to be concerned about radiation. Today's flat screens are pre-shielded, emit light differently than older cathode ray tube (crt) monitors, and are no longer found to be a cause for concern. Although monitor filters are still available, there is no proof that they are of any benefit with modern screens.

Probably no: I am not aware of computer radiation (assuming that you don't use a vintage one) is a major health issue.  However eye strain does occur and any glass which helps to reduce eye fatigue would be fine but UV filter would not afford any protection against radiation.

Safe: Tv/computer screens are not known to emit harmful radiation.

Accepted Answer

Computer: After working on a computer for about 20-30 minutes, the blink reflex is diminished by about 60%.This causes the eyes to become dry,injected,and irritated. You should back away from the computer for several minutes and close your eyes.Also lubricant eye drops will help. There will be no permanent problems.

I believe you could: experience the effects of glare from this mechanism. Glare is light that does not help to create a clear image on the retina. Disability glare reduces contrast and interferes with the clarity of a visual image. Glare can cause headaches, eye pain and chronic computer screen glare can lead to dry eye syndrome. Wear protective lenses/sunglasses when outside. Reposition monitor; try anti-glare screen

Unlikely: Eye infections require exposure to a possible organism and the susceptibility of your body.  We rub our eyes a lot in many circumstances and yet infection is uncommon.  Computer work is drying and that is probably why you rub your eyes so often.  Take with you a bottle of lubricating tears when you use a computer and apply this instead of rubbing.

Have an eye exam: If the pain goes away when you wear readers, you are in need of an eye exam and will probably be prescribed glasses. Many individuals in their late forties start experiencing strain with near tasks; this is called presbyopia, and is treated with readers. If distance vision is also a problem, a pair of glasses may be prescribed as well. An eye doctor can easily treat your condition!

Fatigue: Although each of the causes you provide are possible, i would suspect fatigue and address this first by resting with eyes closed for five minutes every hour.

Just treat dry eyes: And the rest of your symptoms will resolve. There really is no way to increase tear flow. Replacement of tear deficiency is what you need to do. The best drops are: refresh, systane and blink. Try any one of these as needed for dry eyes.

i have eye sight problem. cannt see far things. i use spectacles of 0.5. should i wore same specs or an antiglare specs when working on computer.

Accepted Answer

Either: If you feel more comfortable in your glasses at the computer, then perfectly fine to use them. An antireflective coating probably won't add much to comfort, however. Your symptoms of not being able to see far things clearly without spectacles indicates myopia, I presume a -0.5 corrective spectacle.  I would assume your near vision at your age not to require any help at the computer to begin with.
