: You need a good oncologist who can guide you further.
In general, Thyroid nodules are less serious than Breast Cancer.
You will likely need a biopsy of both areas, starting with a check of the axillary nodule that is showing up in the PET scan. You do not need removal of your breast, a Needle biopsy of the beast abnormality can be done quite easily if you first  go to a Cancer treatment Center

Follow it: Even if it is a cancer, it's probably not going to kill you.  People don't like this message, but we do have an overdiagnosis problem in thyroid cancer.

1.5mm can probably be biopsied but consider following it and biopsy if it changes.

solid thyroid nodule was 3.3 last year now 3.5 cm.  fna biopsy normal in 2011. should i be concern. endo said see me one yr with ultrasound. worried?

Thyroid nodule: You already know that the nodule was benign in 2011. 3.3 vs 3.5 cm is basically the same.  Since you had the ultrasound, you should see your endo, and probably get new set of thyroid tests, but it does not need to be urgent if you are feeling well.

Not common: It is not common to need another ultrasound 10 days after a thyroid biopsy.  I would ask the physician who ordered the study why you would need another ultrasound so soon.

doctor said i should get a biopsy on my 6.5mm thyroid nodule. it's hypoechoic and nothing else suspicious on ultrasound. he said it's for "peace of mind". is this normal practice for a small nodule?

No: There are guidelines set out on what to biopsy.  Google: sru thyroid consensus and there is a chart. If you are the type who will lose sleep over it being cancer or not then you could biopsy for your peace of mind but if it were me, i would not want a biopsy.

Follow: You don't need a biopsy right now but you should have another ultrasound in about one year to make sure it's not growing. Biopsy it in the future if it grows.

Several things : When to biopsy thyroid nodules is based on the clinical judgement of your doctor. Risk factors include history of ionizing radiation to the neck, family history of thyroid ca. Factors such as nodule size, whether dominant nodule is present, especially if solitary rather than as part of multinodular goiter and if calcification is present are important. ? Local symptoms = evaluation.

Usually: It is a very common procedure to have a fine needle biopsy of a thyroid nodule first, to see if surgery is indicated. I guess that it could possible that if the thyroid nodule is so large that needle biopsy would not be helpful and surgery performed first.

Biopsy needed: When an ultrasound biopsy suggests possible pathiology then an guided excision is necessary.  This is a lumpectomy carried out when a site needing excision cant be palplated.  An ultrasound guided insertion of a wire to the site of aspiration is performed and a wide excision hopefully 1 cm around the lesion should be performed.  If adequate, then even a malignant lesion can be cured.

Depends: If it was cystic and they biopsied and pulled fluid out then it could decrease in size and still be cancer. Kind of a tricky question but i think rebiopsy might be the best option rather surgery or just following it.
