Kidney stones: Kidney stones form due to supersaturation of minerals, stasis (lack of flow) of urine or infection. Think of it like pouring salt into a glass of water - once you pour in too much salt, it begins to come out of solution and precipitate at the bottom of the glass. So it is with stones - too much calcium, oxalate, etc or too little water (urine) can cause stones to precipitate in the urine.

No specific effect: Kidney stones may cause pain in the abdomen, kidney infection and if left untreated could result in loss of that kidney, but there are no specific effects on the legs.

i was recently diagnosed with 3 kidney stones, totaling 8mm in size. its been almost 2 weeks with them in the ureter and only 1 small, 1 mm piece has come out .  how long can i safely wait without damaging kidneys any further?

: You need to be followed by a Urologist.  Ureteral stones generally don’t do any harm unless they obstruct urine outflow from the kidney.  This can lead to loss of kidney function.  Are generally VERY painful when they obstruct but not always.  Infrequently, can get obstruction (and damage) without pain.

KIDNEY STONE: Rib issues are generally as tender as they are painful. Stones are more pain than tenderness. Kidney stone pain is not helped by position or rest either.

Kidney stones: Kidney stones that are not causing blockage,pain or bleeding sometimes can merely be observed rather than treated, but this decision should be made by a urologist who will follow you. Have you had your serum calcium levels and parathyroid hormone level checked looking for a  possible cause of your two stones?

i have a kidney stone. it was initially up towards the kidney and has since travelled down closer to the bladder. is it likely to get to the bladder if its already travelled this far? just time and water?

: That is very possible. No accurate prediction can be made without knoing the size of the stone. But with your description chances of passing it are very high. Good luck and use a strainer when you pee so that you can catch the stone and have it analyzed

•	Eating a diet that's high in protein, salt and sugar.
•	Obesity
•	Hyperparathyroidism
•	 inflammatory bowel disease or chronic diarrhea 
•	Taking calcium-based antacids,
•	Excessive use of laxatives
•	Decreased intake of water

Stent discomfort : You are experiencing stent discomfort. You should undergo' cystoscopy with stent removal and IVP to reevaluate ureter.

Nephrolithiasis : Drink plenty of water. Catch the stone when you can and get it analyzed.  Let us know if its calcium oxalate or some other forms of stone.  Depending on the stone type, lemonade maybe beneficial. A blood test is advised.

Water: There are many foods to avoid or cut back. I would suggest googling those. Really the most important thing is hydration with plenty of water. Rarely, you may need medications, but this shoule be under the guidance of a urologist.
