Rinse: Remove you lens and carefully rinse it with rewetting solution or sterile saline.  Gently rub if necessary.

i accidentally got ao sept in my eye with my contact lens i have rinsed with milk, my eye is very painful and red cant hardly open it as it is too sensitive, trying not to rub please advise i have a massive head ache too?

AO sept: It probably has irritated your cornea.Since symptoms are persistent you should see an ophthalmologist for further diagnosis and proper treatment.

why does my head and eyes hurt when i look up or down? it doesn't hurt all the time, but often in the evening/night. 
i don't know if it's relevant, but i don't use glasses or contact lenses, and my vision is good/normal for age)

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see a doctor. Regular exercise may help in loosening the muscles, Raising core body temperature through exercise will improve muscle tone and flexibility.

Maybe not used to it: If you are not used to contact lenses it might be hard to wear them at first, but it should get easier with time.  Glasses are also good, but they can also take time to get used to.  It is good to be able to use both.  If the problems persist, see your eye doctor.

: You have to rinse the lens with the solution. Sometimes, you have to leave it in for a longer time and then rinse again with a new solution. At times, you may have to use a new one.

Placing Contact lens: The problem would be getting the contact lenses on the eye. It can be a challenge with narrow eyes or small eye lids. The smaller the contact lens may make this easier. Soft contacts all have a big diameter, rigid gas perm contacts are smaller and may be easier to put in. Check with the doctor that prescribes contacts for you.

Yes but why: A contact lens with no prescription is called plano which means zero correction.  Many colored contact lenses are in this prescription.  There is no reason to wear a non-corrective contact lens unless you want a color changer.

should i get contact lens solutions with thimerasol?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily: Thimerasol is preservative used in some contact lens solutions.  It  can actually cause an allergic reaction in some individuals.  There are also many other effective solutions available without thimerasol.  Really any commercially available solution should be effective.  The best advice is proper eye and contact lens care.  Clean and replace contacts as directed.
