Saline: You can add some normal saline infant nose drops with a bulb syringe to clear her nostrils. I am glad to hear the cough and lower respiratory issues are decreasing, she is on the road to recovery. Also, give her extra fluids, pedialyte.

Mgt: Usually viral illnesses resolve by day 10-11. I would advise rest and hydration. If you continue to have symptoms at around day 21, a follow up appt for possible sinusitis.
If you develop high fever, please see your doctor.

Tips: Hydrate well.   Consider using a warm air vaporizer. Mix several teaspoons of honey into herbal tea  with a squeeze of lemon juice.  Or make tea with 2 tsp of marshmallow root bark per 1cup of hot water (steep in a covered pot for at least 5 minutes).  Drink several times a day or as needed to relieve coughing. See a physician if your cough is not resolving, difficulty breathing or temp &gt; 104.

Net Pots can: reduce nasal congestion. Mix ¼ tsp salt w 1 cup lukewarm water. More salt can also be used. Place solution in neti pot. Tilt head &amp; pour solution into 1 nostril. Blow nose lightly &amp; spit out any liquid that drains into throat. Repeat on other side. This can be done in the evening before you go to bed &amp; again in a.m. You can watch a video online to get the finer details down.

No magic bullet.: Whether one can get rid of your symptoms depends on the cause.  An otc antihistamine/decongestant or afrin nasal spray for no more than 5 days may reduce the nasal congestion. If this is a long-term issue, be sure to see your doctor.

Symptomatic Treatmen: From what you describe it may be viral upper respiratory infection. 
Symptomatic treatment with humidifier and steam inhalation. Over the counter medications for cold have medications that may not be safe for baby while breast feeding (too many varieties with many commercially available meds to specify which ones are not good).

Humidity: Use Normal Saline nose drops and then either wipe them off or use a bulb suction held outside the nostril to suck out the mucus. Do not put the bulb suction inside the nostril as it can damage the nasal mucus membrane and increase the stuffiness of nose.

Cold or allergies: It could just be a common cold, caused by a virus.  If symptoms last longer than 10 days, a bacterial sinus infection is possible.  Sneezing and congestion for longer than 10 days can also be due to allergic rhinitis ("hayfever," seasonal allergies).  If symptoms last longer than 10 days or high fever occurs, seeing a doctor is wise.

See doctor...: See your doctor asap. Whether or not you can run a marathon in a few days will depend on the severity of your symptoms and whether or not they can be controlled sufficiently by sunday. For example, if you have only mild nasal congestion that may be treatable allowing you to run but if your oxygen level is low at rest, it may not be under adequate control by sunday to allow you to run. See doctor!
