Cold or allergies: It could just be a common cold, caused by a virus. If symptoms last longer than 10 days, a bacterial sinus infection is possible. Sneezing and congestion for longer than 10 days can also be due to allergic rhinitis ("hayfever," seasonal allergies). If symptoms last longer than 10 days or high fever occurs, seeing a doctor is wise.
