It's possible: If the IV antibiotic was not capable of eradicating the entire infection and/or if you picked up a new infection while you were recuperating from the other, it is possible to develop a bone infection that could potentially cause sepsis which could lead to death.  This is true for all patients but especially for those who are immunocompromised with diseases like diabetes, kidney disease or cancers.

after having liquid nitrogen treatment for plantar warts, it is not unusual to have some mild redness around the treatment area.  This is called "reactive erythema" and is a sign of the inflammation around the area that was treated.  However, redness that is warm and/or painful, or that spreads or that drains pus, can be a sign of cellulitis - a bacterial infection of the skin.  It can be difficult for patients to tell the difference sometimes.  I would recommend seeing your doctor right away to determine if antibiotics are needed.

If it is cellulitis, the most common bacteria that cause infection in this area are staphylococcus and streptococcus.  You may have heard of a bacteria that is more difficult to treat with antibiotics called methicillin resistent staphylococcus aureus (mrsa).  There are also other bacteria that can cause the infection but these are the most common.  Cephalexin is a common choice for skin infections but would likely not be effective for mrsa.  After examining your foot, your doctor can make an educated decision regarding which antibiotic is right for you, taking into account which medications you are already taking, your allergies, and your examination.

Never take antibiotics unless they are prescribed by a medical professional for your specific problem.  It can be dangerous to take leftover medications from a previous infection or to purchase antibiotics on the internet.  At best, it can confuse the picture for your doctor if a wound culture is needed.

Not to worry: it depends what the Toe infection is caused by. If it is bacterial and you have swelling and redness adjacent to the nail, you should be seen for oral antibiotics. If it is a fungal infection of the toenail or the skin around the toes, it would be difficult to infect others via objects and household items. Put a few drops of tea tree oil in your body gel and your feet will get treatment every day

Seek treatment: Medication for psoriasis can weaken your immune system, leaving you open to infections that otherwise would be easy to fight.  If you have a wound or an ingrown toenail, it is more likely that bacteria will enter at these sites and cause infections.  Seek treatment and start antibiotics.  A small infection in the toe with a weak immune system can become much worse if untreated.

No: Are you concerned about the shoes being contaminated with the foot fungus and reinfect ing your feet?  You do. To need to get rid of your shoes.  If you put them in the freezer this will kill l the fungus.

Terbinafine: Oral terbinafine is the most reliable treatment for toenail fungus. It requires a prescription and most drs.Will do some blood work. It still leaves a lot to be desired and toenail fungus has a fairly high recurrence rate.

Doubtful: There are many home remedies for nail fungus that are currently promoted.  The truth is nail fungus is very difficult to treat.  The best option in terms of success is oral medication although the effects of treatment on your liver may be worse than what you're trying to treat. There are topical therapies as well. I would recommend seeing a podiatrist. They will find a treatment that works for you.
