Mouth injury: Injuries in the mouth rarely get stitches. Only when bleeding doesn't stop after an hour or so. Otherwise, it should heal up quickly.

This : This condition is typically called "black, hairy tongue".  Some of the causes include antibiotic use, smoking, poor oral hygiene, and drinking coffee.  I would recommend brushing the tongue twice daily and avoidance of possible causes.  If not improved after a few days, consider seeing your physician for further evaluation.  I hope that helps!

Avoid salt: There is no easy answer here, could this be an allergic reaction?  Hard to say.  The salt could cause a histimine release and cause the tongue to swell.  I would stay away from processed foods and switch to a low salt more natural diet.

Dentist & physician: See an oral surgeon or an oral pathologist for a consultation.  There may or may not also be medical considerations complicating matters, so you may have to see a physician as well.  There are medications to treat this.

Black Tongue: Black 'hairy' tongue can be caused by lengthening of the bumps on the end of the tongue, or papillae.  They are often rubbed away with eating but can become longer and get stained by food or tobacco products.  Pepto bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) can also cause the appearance of a black tongue within 24 hours of use.

Not supposed to be: The surface is covered with little bumps (filliform papillae) which contain taste buds. In the back are bigger bulge-y bumps (vallate papillae). A smooth tongue (bald) is an abnormal finding, a sign of (often) nutritional deficiency, e.g. Iron, folate, (folic acid) b vitamin including  b12, riboflavin (b2), b6, or niacin. Other causes as well.
