i have a dull ache in my upper stomach that doesn't feel like indigestion. a sore/hoarse throat that comes and goes for the last 2wks and loose stools?

See a doctor: This could be one of several conditions but you would need thorough evaluation before reaching any definitive conclusions. Could be reflux esophagitis creating the abdominal discomfort and sore throat, in which case might be Helicobacter pylori infection, although this should not generally create diarrhea. Giardia can do this, as can numerous other conditions. Go and be seen. And good luck.

a few years ago i noticed that i get hoarse when i eat.  it comes and goes - no pattern.  my dr thinks lpr but it happens right away after first bite?

Doubt LPR: LPR would cause more frequent or constant hoarseness. Consider getting a modified barium swallow

Hoarseness: Does it improve during the course of the day or not?  Do you smoke?  Any one sick around you?  Could be a variety of things causing your problem.  Since I'm not there to interview or examine you, best you see your PCP if this is not improving.

Yes. : Laryngitis is caused by swollen vocal cords.Once the swelling goes down , your voice will return. Rest your cords by not talking.

Swollen vocal cords: At that age she has either fussed herself into swollen vocal cords or got them in some other way.Some upper airway viruses or reflux can be triggers.At this age I would discuss it with her doc.

See your doctor.: Cough may linger  for weeks after a cold. If it lasts longer than 3 weeks and productive of colored phlegm with other symptoms, treatment may be needed. See your doctor.

my son is 2 years old. he often looses his voice and it becomes croaky. it may last weeks or day and then comes right for a while. he then looses it again and it becomes hoarse and croaky. he is not sick in any way. should i be worried ?

Hoarseness: Children can become hoarse (loosing his voice) due to environmental contaminants such as second hand smoke, pollution or fumes. Chronic allergies can also cause hoarseness as can vocal nodules due to overuse. Look to the environment first and see if you can remove any irritating contaminants. If this doesn't help within a month or so, then take him to see his Dr for a thorough exam.

Hoarseness: Hoarseness is caused by anything that irritates the vocal cords -- post-nasal drip, viral infection, polyps, screaming, singing, smoking, etc. -- voice rest is the treatment of choice -- persistent hoarseness needs to be evaluated by your physician, especially if you are a smoker.
