Very unlikely: Unless blade was contaminated with blood containing HIV and one cut oneself whilst shaving with it.

Very unlikely: Common sense says not to share razors, to prevent skin infections as well as blood borne infections like HIV and hepatitis B and C. However, it is a theoretical transmission mechanism that has never been reported as the actual source of somone's HIV infection. Don't share razors (except maybe your own mutually monogamous sex partner), but don't worry if it happens once or twice by accident.

: Virus containing body fluids as in blood has to get on razor.  You must be cut enough by razor that some of it gets into your blood stream. Ask what do they do to disinfect razors.

: Official agencies tend to list all theoretically possible risks, even if actual risks are minimal. Conceivably shared razors might risk transmission of HIV or other blood borne viruses. However, there has never been a reported case in which this actually appeared to have happened.

if i had gotten maybe gotten hiv frm a razor cut 2yrs ago because smbdy was self harming and i got sick and felt beter in 2 days does it mean im clean?

No: IF you were exposed to HIV then the only way to be clean is to have no further exposures for a minimum of 6 months and test negatvie at that time.  If you are concerned you should see a doctor and get tested.

i got a razor cut during shave from a barber a little blood came out , i could not see if the barber had changed the blade before he started shaving or not , am i at risk of hiv if the razor was having small amount of hiv +ve blood spot on it ??

: HIV cannot be transmitted through above mentioned mechanism unless fresh contaminated blood on it, blood coagulates or clots in seconds,  viruses do not live on inanimate surfaces or in the air. There is still a risk for transmission for other germs and the wound should be watched closely until healed.

Yes &amp; no: A bloody razor could in theory pass a germ like HIV into a cut if it was fresh. However, the HIV virus is very sensitive to drying &amp; exposure and inactivates quickly on objects.  A hardy virus like hepatitis B could easily pass that way. I don't think your chickenpox would, since it incubates for 10-21 days before emerging.

: HIV is not transmitted by such exposures. No risk, no worries.

Very unlikely: This would be highly unusual.  Someone with HIV would have had to have recently used the razor and cut himself. Then,  with blood on the blade, you would have to use it and cut yourself.  It's unlikely that this has ever happened. Still, we recommend against sharing razors.
