hi there, in my cbc my wbc is normal but my abs neuts# is high and my abs lymph# is low. does this mean i have cancer? i often get stuffy noses

No: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, it would have helped if you provided actual numbers, however, it is highly unlikely that the findings are suggestive of cancer.

Sounds normal range: A WBC count of 12,000 is in normal range, and a slightly low lymph count should not raise any red flags. What is the problem ??

Possible hepatitis: There are many causes of hives.  Allergic reactions are the most common.  Persistent hives might be from a medication, or an environmental allergen, for example.  Infections can cause hives.  The abnormal alt and ast can be a sign of viral hepatitis. Sometimes hepatitis will cause hives, especially in the early phase, before jaundice sets in.  Chronic hives (more than 6 weeks) is more complex.

See details: The lab is not impressive except for the elevated CRP. With the history of diarrhea see a gastroenterologist. There are several possibilities including IBD.

Therapy for gastric: ulcers, including testing for H.pylori and use of PPI.s and possibly antibiotics. Gasgtric fluid analysis and ??inconclusibe biopsy- what does that mean?

? viral infection: concurrent viral infection can show such picture, not related to the anemia that you had before. A repeat CBC , if needed, later on would normalize, confer with your doctor about your test results and concerns, wish you wellness

It is not bad: This is close to the normal values. Such minor variations are common. I would not be concerned unless you have some other problems or medical conditions that you are concerned about.

No, not really: If you feel well and are otherwise healthy, then this lymphocyte count is probably ok. It will fluctuate with time. So you need to be patient and keep an eye on it over the next 1-2 years. As long as it doe snot drop to less than 600, i would not be too concerned about it.

blood work done 7/18 and lymphocytes were 30% and abs. lymph was 1.6. done again on 8/3 and lymphocytes were 41.7% and abs lymph was 3.2..normal?
