Paraesophageal: Your hiatal hernia is probably only likely to mask your symptoms of angina if it is very large, also known as a paraesophageal hernia. This is best diagnosed with an upper G.I. Contrast study.

Vague: Are your describing and inguinal or umbilical hernia ????
The smaller the hernia the greater the chance of incarceration of bowel, infarction and gangrene.

Pain, nausea,: Vomiting, increase in size, failure to pass stool or gas, hernia gets hard, any of these symptoms can mean emergency surgery.

Heavy weights: Hernias can get bigger if there is increased pressure in the belly. If you have a bad cough, do a lot of heavy lifting or are very overweight - those are things that can be changed to reduce pressure on the hernia. It probably should be repaired and you have time as long as you are not having pain or lots of nausea. Pain, nausea, vomiting all are signs of an emergency and should take you to The ER

taking occas hydrocodone aft hernia repair. sometimes works great. other times (w/similar pain) i get no relief; but worse, longer-lasting side effs.

Stop hydrocodone: Then I would stop the hydrocodone.  You don't say when your hernia repair was done, but most people don't need the strong stuff after a few days.

i have an inguinal hernia. at what point should i stop living with it and insist it is fixed? it is gradually getting worse.

Get it fixed: Inguinal hernias will tend to get bigger and more problematic. As we get older the risk of surgery and general anesthesia also increases. I would address the hernia sooner than later.

would it be considered a hernia if i've had lower right abdomen pain for 4 months that is getting worse with sitting or lifting? if so what do i do?

NOT NECESSARILY: A hernia, by definition, is a hole in the musculature, such as in your navel or groin, or in an old incision.  You may just have a strain or pulled muscle.  A good physical exam can delineate exactly what is going on, so get yourself to your doctor/surgeon.  Good luck.
