Possible: But most likely , if you have closed wound , you  may have collection serosangenous  fluid   under the skin  possible early wound infection , and see your surgeon  may drain the wound

Wound healing: If there is no fecal fistula ( stool in the wound ) will heal soon , not uncommon problem other conditions play a part like diabetes , obesity , poor circulation etc ,  some times vacuum drainage will help , ask you your doctor to refer you to wound care specialist.

See the surgeon: What you are describing sounds like it could be a para-colostomy hernia forming. These can slowly enlarge, cause local discomfort, or cause the colostomy bag not to seal well around the colostomy. Your surgeon should examine if a hernia is forming and if a surgical repair is indicated.

Not always: I assume you mean an ileostomy that was taken down and reanastomosed.  An abscess that appears within the first 10 days usually occurs from a leak. If the location is favorable, many abscesses can be drained through the skin using x-ray guidance thus avoiding the need for another operation and a colostomy.

Very simple: Various procedures are used to divert the bowel, in particular when a low surgical resection of the sigmoid colon is performed. Here the anastomosis is given a chance to heal by diverting food from the suture line.  Loop colostomy has an opening on top of the loop which is repaired, the adjacent tissue opened so that the closed bowel can be dropped into the abdomen.

Yes: Not unusual after getting the plumbing reworked.  Discuss with the surgeon at follow up visit.  Not normal to have severe pain, vomiting,  no stool output, bleeding after reversal; if present, call md asap.

Accepted Answer

Simple: The loop is performed proximal to an anastomosis to allow  it to heal.  At the time of closure the proximal and distal parts of the opened loop are divided and at skin level the margins are anastomosed and then droped back into the  now open loop site which is then closed at fascial and skin levels.
