Exercise!: Congratulations on quitting! it is, by far, the best thing you can do to help your lungs.  There isn't really much else you can do to help your lungs heal any better but certainly regular cardiovascular/aerobic exercise can benefit you in so many ways, healthier lungs are just the beginning!  good luck!

Remove leaked air: A collapsed lung (pneumothorax) is due to an air leak from the inside of the lung through the covering of the lung, out into the space between the lung and the ribs. The site of the leak has some damage, which will heal itself. The doctor inserts a catheter or chest tube between 2 ribs and sucks the leaked air out. The lung then can re-inflate to full size and heals the leak over a few days.

That depends...: On the cause. Many disease states can cause 'hyperinflation'. Asthma, may cause hyperinflation that resolves after the acute state. However, emphysema causes hyperinflation due to destroyed lung tissue. Unfortunately, that does not 'heal'. If you smoke, quit!

It depends: Most of the time after six months or so the lungs basically go back to normal.  Emphysema, however, represents permanent damage to the lungs.

Yes: Inhaling any kind of smoke will be damaging to your lungs. They are meant to inhale fresh air, not smoke. I guess it depends on how often you do it, and how much you inhale, how much damage you will do.

Yes: Assuming you're talking about copd, inhalers such as beta agonists, steroid inhalers, and anticholinergics treat and prevent the inflammation that leads to worsening of the COPD issue.  They do not cure or reverse copd.

Up to 5 years: The lungs will start to cleanse themselves of tar and nicotine the day you stop smoking.  The increased cancer risk from smoking does not go away for up to 5 years.  Most people will feel they can breathe better within 2-4 months of quitting smoking.
