if you are in cardiac arrest, is your heart motionless or quivering?

Either: Cardiac arrest just means the heart is not functioning effectively as a pump. Sometimes there is chaotic electrical activity causing it to "quiver" this is ventricular fibrillation. There are other situations in which the heart is motionless, perhaps without any electrical activity at all ( asystole) or with activity bit no contractions ( pulseless electrical activity).

im a teen with an anxiety disorder. for a few weeks i felt like my chest/heart was quivering. could this possibly be afib? i took some heart tests a few months ago.

Maybe:  Atrial Fibrillation may cause no symptoms or it can cause palpitations, chest pain, shortness of breath, feeling lightheaded or dizzy, weakness, shortness of breath &amp;/or fatigue.  Not sure what tests were done. Let your parents know if you have more symptoms so that they can advise your physician.

18yr old male. during the night when i lye down my head feel like it is shaking then after a while it goes then come back, my heart sometimes too feels like its quivering at the same time. i have ocd is this a symptom of it?

MAYBE... OR NOT!: Everyone needs an annual physical exam to make sure s/he physically &amp; mentally well. Exam. includes history, physical: vitals like Ht, Wt, Temp, heart rate, Blood Pressure, etc;  systemic exam: HEENT, Respiratory, Cardiovascular, GI, GU, etc; relevant needed tests e.g. blood/imaging, etc. If everything normal then we clear the patient. If you had a recent normal exam, then it is OCD.

Your symptoms: Are concerning for an arrhythmia such as svt...Please see your physician for diagnosis & treatment.

i have been feeling this quivering in my chest and legs.  not pain and not constant.  just like an internal shiver.  also my upper arm muscles on my right arm hurt.  could this be a heart problem?

Systemic Problem: 45y f has muscle spasm-like symptoms in chest and both legs with pain right upper arm. This is an odd presentation, but not characteristic of heart problems. A systemic problem is suggested &amp; diagnosis will depend on face-to-face physical examination and laboratory studies. Electrolytes? Thyroid?  Start with a primary care provider. If any lightheadedness, chest pain or fever go to urgent care.

Hyperventilation: All the symptoms you mention are signs of hyperventilation.  I would not worry about it unless it occurs spontaneously

Hypovolemia: Mosr common cause would be mild dehydration but if adequate does solve this issue please see your physician for a more in depth evaluation.

Heart rate: A heart rate of 55 on awakening is not unusual.

Heart rate: Typically there's a bump in heart rate immediately on awaking which later slows to its usual base rate.

my heart rate is higher when waking up around 80 to 100 yet when going to bed at night it's 50-70 why is this?

Accepted Answer

Normal: The heart rate range between 50 to 100 is normal.  A slower heart rate at night and higher when up and active is expected and completely normal.
