: Assuming there was no significant displacement and that the treatment was decided on by an orthopedist, there should be no reason why it wouldn't heal without any functional abnormality.

: You did not say how you got the fracture, however I would say the body would create pain when you do something that is not supposed to be done with it. If you exercise your finger regularly including playing guitar without pain then we know you could play your guitar. I would suggest caution and using the finger tool (slide) to reduce injury.

Depends on the nat-: ture of the fracture. Also location. Proximal are more prone to displacement than distal. Also after2-3 wks the cast can be removed and the fx x-rays taken&amp; the decision can be made to leave out or re-cast. Your ortho or hand surgeon makes the call not your impatience. Hang in there, the outcome is lifetime. .

4-6 weeks: it take at least 4-6 weeks for a fracture like this to heal..
It is to your orthopedic surgeon that place the pins to decide when to take them out.
Do not Rush thing it is not worth it

4-6 weeks: As long as you are taking good  care of your fracture by keeping it immobilized as recommended by your doctor, you should be healed in 4-6 weeks. Make sure to eat healthily with plenty of calcium-rich foods (dairy, soy), and take vitamin D3 approximately 5000 units a day.
