Tough to say: Without an exam, it is not truly possible to tell the seriousness of your friends condition.  Head ache with eye pain could be a simple migraine, or may be something else if the conditions persist.  Best to have your friend evaluated.

Cluster HA's: Could well be cluster headaches which focalize over one eye and awaken from sleep. These are considered very nasty, and the pattern is best broken up by taking a preventative medication such as Divalproex Sodium or topirimate.  See your doctor and start a therapy.

Headache: If you have no allergies, you can try tylenol (acetaminophen) or advil.  If your sinuses are clogged, try a decongestant.  If these do not help, call your primary doctor...

Urgent Medical check: Severe persistent headache can be due to a serious intracranial cause such as Bleeding. This requires immediate medical check up  as it is an emergency, so I would advise you to go to ER today and get checked. A CT scan of the brain is required . MRI very sensitive: Just because you have something in the sinus, it does not mean it is the cause of your symptoms. Retention cysts are common.  Does light or sound bother you when you have the headache?  Do you have visual changes before the headache comes? If so you may have migraine allergies can also have these MRI findings.

i am 21, i am having a buldging pulsating vein on my left temple with headache and eye pain. i use computers alot.. i had severe headache last night.

Arteries pulsate.: Arteries pulsate and veins do not.  However, if a vein is close to the artery, the pulse of the artery will be transmitted to the vein so the vein will look as if it is pulsating.  Certainly eye strain can occur when using a computer leading to headaches.  I cannot say if the arterial pulsation has anything to do with the headache.  If your symptoms persist then follow up with your medical doctor.

Allergy plan: If you have allergic reaction to common allergens such as dust and pollen, avoid exposure, avoid smoke exposure and rinse with a hi flo nasal saline rinse ( Neilmed e.g.). This may provide relief and reduce inflammation. A nasal steroid spray may be used to treat inflammation. For purulent drainage, which is thick and green, an antibiotic treatment for sinusitis may be indicated. Discuss options.

Sore throat is commo: A change of weather frequently brings on sore throat(head colds) which are caused by common viruses. This is nothing to worry about as it occurs in almost every body once or twice a year. it has no special treatment other than Tylenol for sore throat. it settles down in 5-7 days. If it is getting worse after 5 days, then you need to see your PCP, especially if you develop persistent Fever .
