Epilepsy : The lamotrigine is a very effective drug and if kept in therapeutic drug level should be a keeper.  Lorazepam is not a great anti-epileptic but may be useful for anxiety

three years ago i suffered concussion from a bicycle accident, losing consciousness for about an hour.  no visible head injury (was wearing helmet.)  is my blood-brain barrier likely to be damaged?  is it safe for me to take ivermectin medication?

Ivermectin: This antiparasitic medication has a rare side effect of neurotoxicity, but I don't believe that your prior history of a concussion would make you any more susceptible to this side effect.  Your pharmacist may be able to provide you with more information about ivermectin as I'm sure many physicians have no experience with this medication.

See below: The diagnosis of MS can be rather complex, as several other entities need to be excluded, and the MS does need confirmation.  But assuming diagnosis is correct, the drug Rituxamab would actually be a rather terrific choice.  Cannot confirm your diagnosis based on information provided.

Seizures ave many ca: Many seizures are caused by unknown factors causing irritability of the cerebral cortex. The fact that your son has not had a seizure ib 15 years is certainly encouraging. A medical neurologist is the specialist to consult. Eeg's may be helpful in reassuring you about the long term outlook.

Well, yes: Paul, it all depends on the type of injury you had.  Sounds pretty serious if you had surgery!   Be sure that your doctor or the surgeon is OK with whatever you are planning to DO in those "hilly areas", and obviously use all precautions (like a helmet) if you are doing anything dangerous, even biking. Medications: Frequently when a patient with a traumatic brain injury recovers he/she goes through different stages. Where he starts depends on the severity of the injury. The patients may have agitation and confusion as they improve. This is treated with medications such as valproate, seroquel, (quetiapine) inderol. This helps to calm the patient.

Accepted Answer

Depends : It depends on how serious it was.  Physical therapy can help with retraining if needed for things like walking and balance (assuming they could do these before the injury and now can't).  Speech therapy can help with some cognitive problems that can arise after a moderate to severe head injury.  Fortunately, the brain is still developing quite a lot at this stage so minor injuries can be overcome.
