Doesn't sound safe: The HCG diet has a person eating 500 calories a day for more than a month. That's just one big slice of pizza a day. A 4-month old baby eats 500 calories a day. Anybody on 500 calories a day is on a starvation diet and will lose weight. It doesn't sound safe. Extremely low calorie diets don't work because the weight comes back when one starts eating again. Long-term lifestyle changes are needed.

Weight loss: Most people try to use human growth hormone for weight loss and for metabolism. It has never been proven to be effective when taken orally. Most of the oral products that are availible over the counter are not going to do much for you. I wouldnt waste your money.

Insufficiency : The diet is really a starvation diet and can cause problems with heart and other organs because you aren't getting enough nutrition and can see  consequences from starvation.  Do not recommend as not worth weight loss. Add exercise if you want to burn more calories than you are taking in. Not worth harming your body

I would stop it.: Let your doctor know you are on the diet.  If you are taking drops or internet product i would recommend stopping as that won't work.  If you are taking injectable and you have an infection, it might be best to stop to let your body recover, as the ketotic effects may interfere with the distribution and effects from the medication.

Possibly: The HCG diet was originally developed by a.T.W. Simeons M.D. During the 1940's -1950's. It has been used all over the world for over 50 years. This method is extremely safe & effective when used under the care of an experienced & trained md. Apparently  HCG has an effect on your hypothalamus, increasing adiponectin levels & reducing leptin resistance. The method must be followed strictly to work.

Never: They won't.  Hcg oral or injectable will not show up on urine testing.  Try taking a home pregnancy test to prove it to yourself.  Hcg in urine is the marker of pregnancy.

Small amounts ok: In the recovery phase you must weigh yourself daily, and if weight increases than , skip breakfast and lunch, drink plenty of water; eat huge steak with an apple and raw tomato for dinner.

You can start the HCG and do the overeating phase at the end of your cycle but you should wait until your cycle is over to start the very low calorie diet.

Q should be reversed: Shouls be "as i continue to do all the things to stay healthy, and treat my thyroid, is it ok to be on the HCG diet". That "diet" is so far down any list of successful wt loss & more imp effective long term maintenance of the wt lost, i find it diff to address the q as you asked it. Just know the % muscle u burn on hcg, is the amt of fat u will regain once u pass the wt u were at when u started.
