Fever: No effects for baby. If fever is persistent then follow up with doctor to find source. Maternal infection more worrisome for baby then fever

Not much: There is not much else to choose from but some side effects are not true side effects -- please discuss this with your doctor or get a second opinion.

Maybe: I actually don't usually recommend antihistamines for colds. In general, lots of fluids and rest are what the body needs...As your immune system does the job of fighting the cold.

Mortality : A recent cdc report shows prescription opiate abuse as the number one cause of death in us in adolescents and young adults. Other than death, dependency leads to drug seeking, theft, poor nutrition, sleep disruption, poor academics, loss of work, legal problems, dui, loss of family and friends. Couldn't find a worse thing to do.

Since I: don't know what medication you discontinued or for what reasons, it's impossible to say. Generally, however, a testosterone gel, titrated to the proper dose, is the most recommended therapy. Discuss w/your doctor.

are there any alternative drug treatments to plavix (clopidogrel) for stroke from both carotid artery50%blockages which don't  cause adverse effects of gi bleeding?

Not really: All medications used after an ischemic stroke (cholesterol plaque rupture causing an interruption in blood flow) are treated with blood thinners. Some people are more sensitive to certain ones, so if you've had a GI bleed while on Plavix (clopidogrel), (clopidogrel) then talk to your neurologist. Plavix (clopidogrel) is usually the best, but start with aspirin 182 mg daily. If you still have strokes, then Aggrenox is the next step up.

what is strep infection? my boyfriend has been having soar throat, recently dr had said it was hay fever finished meds but throat keeps on hurting.

Strep throat: Strep infection is caused by bacteria called group a beta-hemolytic streptococcus. Was he tested for strep and treated for it? If so, other causes of sore throat could be a viral infection, dryness of the throat caused by snoring, allergies, reflux, etc. An ENT specialist should be consulted.

Hay : Hay fever is often part of a triad that includes asthma, eczema, and hayfever.  Hayfever alone is generally not imperative to treat, so treating the symptoms alone is up to the individual.  Occassionaly, untreated hayfever can contribute to complications like nasal polyps that are more difficult and serious to treat, but that is rare.  The only non-medicinal approaches i can think of are to avoid the triggers (allergy testing with bloodwork can help find out what these are) and to try a netti-pot or an equivalent saline sinus rinse system.  These are not proven by any solid evidence but anecdotally, some people swear by them.  Worth a try if you really want to avoid meds.  For what it's worth, there are some meds that don't cause drowziness, like fluticasone, that i consider safe to use. Good luck!

See an allergist: for uncontrollable hay fever (allergic rhinitis) symptoms, meanwhile saline nasal washes, regular OTC cetirizine, loratadine or fexofenadine, and steroid nasal spray, but read the labels carefully. Check aaaai.org it acaai.org for an allergist in your area, best wishes

Multiple options: "hay fever" often refers to allergic rhinitis or other forms of rhinitis or a runny nose. The runny nose and congestion are caused by chemical mediators like histamine or leukotrienes. So taking antihistamines like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and loratidine (claritin) help block the chemical mediators your body produces and helps stop the symptoms. Nasal sine, decongestants, steriid nose prays can help as well.
