Appendicitis: Frequent loose stools are not a classic symptom in acute appendicitis. Irritable bowel syndrome, certain food intolerances(lactose,gluten), recent viral intestinal tract infection or food poisoning are more likely possibilities. However persistent right lower abdominal discomfort,especially with associated tenderness, warrants an examination by a physician for diagnosis.

Virus?: One of the main concerns with diarrhea in small children is dehydration. It sounds like he might have a viral gastroenteritis causing his symptoms. It will get better on its own. You just have to make sure he drinks plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration. If he starts vomiting a lot, complains of abdominal pain, gets high fever, he should be seen by his doc. If diarrhea gets worse, also call.

Depends: Breast fed kids may go a little every feed or one bulky stool every 7-10 days. Most will have looser stools when they are more frequent.  Most formula babies go 1-2xd.

tested positive for covid last week, been symptomatic for 12 days now. for the last few days my temp is normal in the morning but develop low-grade fever later in the aft/eve, followed by many loose bowel movements (4+). is this still covid?

: Yes most likely these are symptoms of COVID 19. It looks that you are doing better than before . Loose bowel movements will improve . Anti motility agents are avoided as virus is shed in stool and decreases the body burden of virus. You can try stopping dairy products  for 4 weeks as some infections predispose  to temporary lactose intolerance. See your doctor if not improving. Hope it helps.

Diarrhea: Diarrhea can be seen with end stage renal disease and is not uncommon. Your symptoms may be related to kidney disease however change in bowel habits should be evaluated by your doctor.

Wait: This doesn't sound like blood in your stool but rather chunks of undigested food due to rapid transit through the digestive tract.  Blood is unlikely to appear in chunks. See your md if things change.

Drink fluids and see: Just drink clear liquids containing some sugar and electrolytes and if it still does not get better or you start vomiting and can not hold any fluids go to er for IV fluids and blood and stool test
main concern is to prevent dehydration, as most of these caused by viruses are self limiting
if you have high fever with it or have travel abroad you need to see your doctor.
