is it normal for a period to randomly be very heavy where i can't get up without it pouring everywhere i also have a lump in my groin and bad cramps?

Accepted Answer

It is normal in: the teen years to have variation in menstrual flow however the groin lump (probably a lymph node) is definitely NOT normal. I suggest you see a GYN specialist as soon as practicable!

just got over a very bad period last friday with severe cramps and bleeding. now i have severe pain in groin by vagina, waist, side, lower back. having hard time sitting and walking. what is going on?

See an OB/GYN: This could be due to numerous issues and in order to be correctly diagnosed you need to be seen and examined.  It sounds severe enough that you should do this asap.  Either see your gynecologist urgently or perhaps go to er. Hope this clears up soon.

: You should see your doctor or gynecologist because there is often treatment available for this type of pain. There may be a reason for the pain, like endometriosis for example. Sometimes regulating your periods with birth control pills helps with this discomfort. So, see your doctor or gynecologist for evaluation and treatment. Good luck!!

Bleeding: Breakthrough bleeding (bleeding at the wrong time)  is very common on all forms of birth control. It happens in about 1/3 of users. Its no big deal and usually self corrects over time.  If you are not satisfied or it continues to happen  then consider using a different birth control method. It is a common side effect and does not mean something is wrong or that the iud is not working.

Pelvic pain requires an examination to help organize the evaluation. Your pregnancy test is negative so you are not pregnant. The vaginal discharge requires testing to determine the cause and treatment

Could be: femoral or inguinal hernia, lymph node enlargement, or even endometriosis of the round ligament.  Have your doctor refer you to a surgeon to take a look.  You might need further tests.

Many possibilities: If the menses were normal and the pain moderate or less, this is not likely serious --but the likely cause may be intestinal (especially if left sided), ovarian (?Ovulation ) or muscular-or other. Acetaminophen and time may solve your problem.
