i had a burst of a vein yesterday on one leg now today 3 in the other. today's is very painful,  hard and warm. standing is painful in the area. should i be concerned?

Bone Spur: It is possible that you have a bone spur in your Achilles tendon, which can cause it to be prominent and hard.  The vein sticking out is not likely due to your Achilles injury.  I recommend you see a podiatrist for evaluation.

Blood clot: Sounds like a superficial vein blood clot. This is different than a deep vein blood clot.  The deep vein blood clots are more dangerous. I would suggest seeing your doctor who will order a ultrasound to confirm that it is superficial. Aspirin is usually used for superficial thrombophlebitis and a vascular specialist may be required. If deep vein clot, u will require med's like warfarin or xarelto

Phlebitis: You need to check with your physician for phlebitis or clot formation , if recurrent may need to rule out hypercoagulable problem or tendency to form clots.

The : The first thing to do is get some compression stockings. These are not available at all pharmacies, so you may have to call around.  They don't require a prescription, but can be pricey. Get grade 2 or 3 stockings, at least calf-high.  These will help your pain right away and their initial use is required by most insurance companies before they'll cover anything else related to vein problems.

The next thing to do is go to the doctor finder page at the society of interventional radiology website (http://doctor-finder.Sirweb.Org/).  I found 22 doctors in michigan who specialize in the treatment of varicose veins. These folks will find out what's causing your problem and can offer a variety of minimally-invasive treatments.

Saphenous veiv: This could be a tributary of the short saphenous vein .  The only way to really know is to have it evaluated by a vascular doctor or podiatrist .  Bulging veins should always be evaluated .

See Your Doctor: !6 yr old "hard, swollen veins rt leg". In your age group, these symptoms point to an anomaly of the blood vessels to the right leg which could interfere with normal circulation. These can be present from birth and go undiagnosed until some time later. The  main anomoly may lie deep while causing the superficial findings that you can see. See your doctor now for correct diagnosis and treatment.

last night i started experiencing numbness and feels like my leg is really heavy or hard to use my leg normally. thought it was just me lying on my side too long. this morning i see just under my knee around the veins is a little swollen. ?

My concerns: You may have developed inflammation of the veins called thrombophlebitis.  If this is the case, you need immediate attention to prevent embolic blood clots from migrating to the lung.  An ultrasound study could objectify this. Other possibilities exist, but this is the most urgent area to be ruled out.  Contact your doctor now, but an ER visit may be most prudent.

Injury and DVT: Yes you can develop vascular injuries from physical contact. Trauma is one of the most common causes of lower extremity deep vein thrombosis (dvt). See your vascular surgeon to obtain a doppler study and a treatment plan.
